Saturday is always a big day at FolkNRoots Radio. Tons of great music from all over the roots map, like every day on FNR, but Saturday afternoon we debut the brand new episode of Twenty Eight Tunes with Stephen Milligan, followed immediately by the new Feature Album of the Week.
Twenty Eight Tunes … four sets of seven tunes … a theme for each set. The idea is to give you a sense of the range of roots music we play. And of course, the show culminates with the Most Played Song of the Week.
This week, the 28th tune is the single from the American release of Scott Nolan‘s great album Silverhill … the track is called “Fire Up“.
The show runs from 2-4 pm, and today’s set topics include “Women’s Voices”, “Americana Music”, “Bluegrass” and “Songs from the New Adds Show”.
Then at 4 pm eastern, we have the first full play through of our Feature Album. This week, the record is the second album from The Ballroom Thieves, “Deadeye“. It’s a long time since I was as excited as I am about discovering a band … these three are the real deal, and the record is a killer!
Here’s a sample:
It’s the lead track on the album, so tune in at 4, and check out the whole record.
